Sheridan Maine are looking for an experienced Payroll manager to take full responsibility of processing the companys payroll for a very large and well established manufactorer based in Aston.


The Payroll Manager will be responsibility for the processing of the company’s payroll. Taking data from the time and attendance system after validation and approval from HR and using the company SAP payroll system, process the payments to the company's 700 permanent employees. The role works closely with the HR department, Plant Management, Finance team, the UK (Plants) Financial Controller and European Finance Director in achieving its objectives.

  • Prepare monthly payments and deductions time and attendance information received from HR department and shop floor managers
  • Input and check monthly payroll changes into SAP/Payroll.
  • Communicate to HR department for any changes or queries and to discuss any payroll requirements.
  • Resolve payroll queries via emails and phone calls.
  • Communicate to HR and site managers of the monthly payroll cut off and foreign visitors/Appendix 4 (every week).
  • Managing statutory payments including manual calculations of SMP, SPM and SSP.
  • Communicate to third parties to send relevant information for the monthly payment such as GIP payments, Charity deductions and Child care fees
  • Managing tax codes and student loans by downloading up to date online information from HMRC website.
  • Managing monthly payroll process including various payment checks prior to BACS submission.
Person specification

The right person for this role will be qualified and will have experience working in large, fast pace enviroments taking full ownership over processes with a creative approach to improving systems and procedures.

  • Qualified with recognized accounting qualification, CIMA/ACA/ ACCA
  • Payroll management experience preferred
  • Excellent communication, planning and organization skills.
  • Proficient in SAP
  • Strong IT skills especially Microsoft Office
  • A can do attitude and a willingness to drive the business forward.
  • Determination to succeed in a deadline driven environment.
  • Ability to communicate confidently and effectively.
  • Capable of working effectively under pressure.
  • Experience of working closely with business unit stakeholders.
  • Tenacious approach.
  • Strong attention to detail.

45,000 P/A - 55,000 P/A
