Position Title: Warwick Mainframe Operator - 6 months Fixed Term

Location: Warwick

Full Time - 6 months fixed term

Salary: basic £26,330.72 plus shift allowance £8,689.13 per annum

Shift: 24/7/365 rotating pattern

Working as part of a dedicated pool within a larger 24/365 Shift Systems Operations Team providing system, application and batch monitoring, 1st and 2nd level fix, and batch scheduling on Midrange and Mainframe systems, but primarily Mainframe.

The role involves working a 12 hour shift cycle both days and nights and some weekends.

All task management will be the responsibility of the IBM UK SysOps Manager.

Main Accountabilities

  • Cross Platform Monitoring utilising HP Openview
  • Monitoring backups
  • Monitoring and support of batch and online systems
  • Applying first and second level fix
  • Incident management and resolution
  • Checklist processing
  • Mainframe, UNIX and WINTEL batch scheduling
  • Application release management
  • Quality assurance and approval
  • JCL inspection and standardisation
  • Code promotion
  • Table movement
  • System Development support
  • Management and implementation of changes
  • Involvement in Project work
  • Maintaining shift instructions
  • Maintaining HP Openview definitions
  • Mainframe change and release documentation
  • Emergency fixes and code migration
  • Print recovery
  • Execution of scheduled changes and requests
  • Reporting
  • File Processing
