Cover Supervisor – Birmingham

What is a Cover Supervisor - Am I qualified to be one?

A Cover Supervisor is like a supply teacher, but with none of the marking, planning or lesson preparation. Essentially, you will be leading a class and delivering pre-prepared work, with a heavy focus on maintaining good classroom behaviour.

An ideal Cover Supervisor will ideally be a graduate, with a 2:1 degree or higher – or will be a candidate with a proved history of working with young people in education as a lecturer, coach or teaching assistant. However, none of these qualities are essential. What really matters is that you have a desire to work in education, a positive attitude and the resilience to keep going when things get tough!

A ‘Good’ Ofsted rated Secondary School in North Birmingham is looking for a dynamic and capable Cover Supervisor to work with pupils in Key Stage 3 and 4 providing General Cover on a long term basis.

·Cover Supervisor

·Easter Start

·Full Time Role, 1 Term Minimum

·Good Rated School

The ideal candidate will have a strong grasp of English and Maths and be confident with young people. The school is looking for a candidate with a good balance of behaviour management and ability to deliver pre-prepared work.

The school is an ethnically diverse, with a higher Special Educational Needs roster than the national average. Rated ‘Good’ in 2015, the school has made remarkable steps in transforming its pupils attitudes towards learning and progressing after compulsory education – and applicants to this role need to reflect a similar attitude.

Should you feel that you fit the bill for this role, or are interested in a career in education and think you have what it takes please do not hesitate to respond to this advert.
