3aaa Apprenticeships, a leading Ofsted Grade 1 awarded training provider, is looking to bring on board a Software Development Trainer/ Mentor, to train and mentor learners in a variety of programming languages and to cover the Central Midlands area of Derby/Stoke/Nottingham and Leicester.

You will have a passion for teaching, coaching and assessing young people to complete apprenticeship qualifications and develop their skills in a variety of Software Development roles.

You will be required to guide Apprentices to plan their activities, develop their skills in the workplace, at training sessions, and support them to complete their qualifications through a mix of teaching, mentoring at workplace visits and liaison activities.

What you will be doing includes, not limited to:

    Deliver effective learning in class-based study weeks and ensuring apprentices achieve their maximum potential throughout the training programme

    Ensure that assessment of Software Development programmes are delivered to the employers’ requirements

    Supporting apprentices during induction and their programme to successfully achieve their apprenticeship

    Visiting learners in the work place, coaching and assessing against selected standards to successful outcomes against set targets

    Prepare, agree and review assessment plans with each learner

    Efficient and effective operation of the assessment process in line with the company's apprenticeship quality systems and the requirements of the awarding body

    Liaising and communicating with Apprentice employers/ line managers to ensure they are fully aware of how to support them to meet key milestones.

There is a requirement to pass an Enhanced DBS check. This will be paid for by 3aaa Apprenticeships.

You will need a driving licence and own vehicle for the nature of this role, as delivery will be across multiple sites.

Essential Requirements

    2-3 years' solid experience within a similar role

    Experienced of teaching L3 & L4 IT Software Qualifications

    Relevant sector skill knowledge of the workplace and subjects (IT, Web and Software Development)

    Teaching qualification (i.e. PGCE/CTLLS or equivalent)

    Assessor qualification (A1, CAVA, TAQA)

    Programming related qualifications or Degree
