We are an international law firm with a reputation for delivering high-quality legal advice rooted in its deep understanding of the sectors and geographies in which our clients operate. We are looking for an HR administrator to join our Birmingham team.

In this role, you'll work within the shared services department to provide a professional and quality administrative support service to the HR team and internal clients. This role places a strong emphasis on team support & administration, with specific HR duties such as the administration of leavers and joiners. It's an advantage to have previous HR administration experience - particularly in the new starter and leaver processes.

This role is within a fast-paced team, and the right candidate is able to work efficiently under pressure, is happy to work towards tight deadlines, has strong communication skills and an excellent eye for detail. You have the confidence to hit the ground running in this role from day one, and learn and further develop your skills as you progress on the job.

Initially a 12-month fixed-term contract, there may be an opportunity to progress to a permanent contract, and eventually to an HR Assistant role. The salary for this role is competitive for an entry-level role at £19.5k p.a.

  • Assist HR Assistant with management of starter process
  • Log probation paperwork and send probation completion letters
  • Create ad-hoc HR reports for the wider HR function
  • Create new starter and induction packs
  • Process changes to personal details
  • Administer the eyecare vouchers scheme/season ticket loan applications/loyalty awards
  • Log self certificates and fit notes
  • Ensure HR Assistants are kept up to date and informed
  • Collate and log all appraisal documentation
  • Prepare induction paperwork
  • Reset HR self-service passwords
  • Respond to reference requests and manage reference database
  • Maintain the firms HR database (audits, inputting, updating)
  • Take ownership of HR archiving process
  • Log new starter outstanding actions
  • Stamp and distribute post
  • Manage HR in-box and distribute queries within the team
  • Handle internal and external telephone enquiries
  • Support a team of HR Assistants with the majority of administrative tasks
