Would you like to work in an exciting and critical role within BAE Land UK? We currently have a vacancy for a Site and Operations Manager at our site in Telford.
As a Site and Operations Manager you will deliver the operations solution for military vehicles and systems servicing, repairs and upgrades together with the development of future programmes assembly integration and test programmes.
This role will provide you with the opportunity to be a member of the leadership team for our In Service Support business and play a major role in its future and overall strategic direction.

Your main responsibilities as a Site and Operations Manager will involve:
Delivery of the current and future manufacturing, assembly, integration and test programmes, working with the engineering and project management functions to ensure appropriate levels of resource are deployed to the programme
Developing the manufacturing strategy and associated infrastructure to deliver future manufacturing solutions
Deriving business cases for site or project capital investments, securing approval and delivering the installation
Preparing manufacturing instructions and quality control processes and ensuring that the capacity and capability is in place to deliver them
Chair of the business continuity management team and ready to take control in the event of an emergency
Management of site and operations risk management
Monthly delivery of business briefs to circa 350 staff
Lead the development of capability through early careers solutions, policies and strategy to future proof the people capability
Embed a safety culture through the team and ensure work is carried out to the highest health, safety and environmental standards, protecting the OHSAS 14001 and 18001 certification
Ensuring that the site security arrangements are robust and adhered to
Your skills and qualifications:
Extensive management experience of multi-disciplined teams of internal and external professionals (including teams of electrical, mechanical, process & tool calibration)
A good understanding of manufacturing processes and good practices
Detailed knowledge of test, assembly and integration ideally within a vehicles environment
Lean/Six Sigma experience
Knowledge and experience of military vehicles and associated support or heavy tracked plant and machinery
