Quality Inspector / Engineer

My client is a leading manufacturer of life saving mechanical equipment for the emergency services market.

The Quality Inspector / Technician will contribute to the maintenance of quality standards at all stages of the production process and take the lead in various quality processes and procedures to ensure 100% compliance and customer satisfaction.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

Manage inspection and testing methods and procedures.
Carry out detailed inspections.
Programming CMM machinery.
Perform product or process troubleshooting.
Run and maintain the NCN system.
Raise 8D's on supply base for any non-conformances (internal customers and external customers).
Carry out in house containment activities, manage quarantine and logs accordingly.
Communications with supply base and ensure compliance to customer requirements.
Carry out sample inspections on goods in.
Preparation in carrying out supplier audits / visits
Carry out internal audits.
Lead in the analysis and disposition of non-conforming material.
Draft, advise and implement quality standards, process and procedures.
Contribute and advise on calibration, tolerances and test parameters.

Key Requirements:

Ideally possess a CQI Level 4 / 5 qualification in quality or engineering (Desirable)
Experienced in programming CMM machines (Essential)
Possess a solid working knowledge of PC-DMIS (Desirable)
Detailed knowledge of inspection, metrology (Essential)
Experience in using verniers, calipers, gauges etc. (Essential)
Able to read, understand and interpret engineering drawings (Essential)
Understanding of production processes and procedures (Essential)
Familiar with auditing procedures (Desirable)
Problem solving skills within an engineering environment (8D/5Y) (Essential)
Good understanding of industry relevant quality processes and procedures (Essential)
Strong working knowledge and understanding of quality standards (Essential)
Continuous improvement and 5S mindset (Desirable)
