Reporting directly to the Production Supervisor, this role is responsible for welding fabricated sheet metal components from 1mm to 3mm in thickness, ensuring correct dimensions and squaring guideline are met. Other duties involved in the role are as follows:
Read and interpret engineering drawings.
Have the ability to weld from 1mm to 3mm in thickness.
Carry out necessary checks and quality assurance of products as per customer specifications.
Endeavour to maximise the best use of resources.
Assist with putting forward any suggestions for continual improvement.
Maintaining safe working practices within the work place.
Any other duties commensurate within this position and skill set required.
Skills & Experience Required:
Must possess a minimum of 2 years TIG Welding experience.
Experience of working on a shop floor environment, (ideally within sheet metal) and similar role is a distinct advantage along with flat pattern development experience.
Possess a good understanding of engineering drawings.
Previous fabricator skills
Be able to agree and meet reasonable time scales for the work required.
Have the ability to work within a team or on your own initiative, able to solve problems.
Pay attention to detail and quality.
Possess the ability to multi task.
Metal polishing experience is preferred but not essential.
