Contract length: 6 months temporary ongoing

Contract hours: Monday - Friday, 37 hours a week (9-5)

Rate: Negotiable dependent upon experience

Our client, a Local Authority based in the Black Country is looking to recruit two vacancies, both on six month contracts for a Payroll Assistant and Payroll Team Leader.

Duties will include (but not limited to):

* Managing a small payroll team of payroll, taking appraisals and setting KPI’s

* Processing starters and leavers and tax code changes

* End to end monthly payroll and zero hour contracts as part of a team

* Calculate statutory payments including SMP, SSP, SAP and SPP

* Respond to Information Enquiries - F.O.I.’s, Mortgage references, insurance claims, sickness payments, jury service within relevant timescales

* Complete month end duties; including processing P11ds and expenses

* Deal with real time information and auto enrolments

* Have a sound knowledge of pension schemes and handle P45’s and P60’s

* Ensure compliance with relevant legislation including data protection, HMRC, LGPS and Teachers Pensions, SSP, Tax, NI, national and local conditions of service
