Nursing Home Manager Location: Bromson Hill Nursing Home, Ashorne. Warwickshire, CV35 9AD Pay: Competitive based on experience and negotiation. To Apply: email Role Summary: To provide a comprehensive, resident focused management service. Designated as "Person in Charge" in accordance with the Care Quality Commission (CQC) in order to ensure that the Home is operated in the most caring, professional, effective and profitable manner possible. Preferred working hours 0800-1600 Monday - Friday. Key Accountabilities: To create, foster and maintain a resident care philosophy in the care home, in order to ensure the highest possible level of resident service at all times. To provide services as per the Statement of Purpose. A professional, caring and commercially viable service is provided in compliance with CQC requirements, and all legislative and organisational requirements. The care home is managed in accordance with the company's stated Quality Statement. Be responsible for recruitment of staff. All resident facilities are properly co-ordinated and utilised in order to provide the maximum level of resident comfort and activity. Regular meetings are held with residents and carers to ensure high standards are maintained. All nursing, therapeutic, nutritional and housekeeping standards are maintained at the highest possible standard, at all times. Audits to be completed as per audit schedule. Six weekly supervisions to be carried out for all staff groups and annual appraisals. Effective measures are in place to facilitate the provision of medical, optical and dental services wherever and whenever possible. All general healthcare appointments and notes are recorded and cares are kept informed. Effective steps are taken to maintain and, where appropriate, add to own professional qualifications. An effective advice and back up service is provided on urgent matters out of normal office hours. This on call system is utilised and displayed. To proactively seek new residents such that income flows is continually maintained / improved by maximising care home occupancy levels. The care home manager must network amongst the local community and health care agencies. Effective measures are in place to respond to resident/family enquires and where brochures and other publicity materials are used to the maximum effect. Effective and accurate documentation is retained in enquiries. Occupancy levels are maintained at a target of over 95%. Person Specification: Education, Training and Qualifications Good general secondary education to GCSE or equivalent is desirable. Sound management experience in a care/healthcare environment. Qualified Registered General Nurse or Registered Mental Nurse. Preferably hold Registered Managers Award. Experience and Job Related Knowledge Previous supervisory and/or management experience is essential. Knowledge of health, safety and welfare. Knowledge of drug administration protocols. Broad understanding of current nursing practices. Previous experience working within a care home is desireable. Attend mandatory training sessions. Assess own learning needs and accept responsibility for continuing education. Abilities and Aptitudes Excellent written and verbal communication skills i.e. must be able to complete detailed reports and implement detailed procedures. Excellent organisational skills. Must be flexible. Must be able to prioritise. Ability to work as part of a team and on own initiative i.e. operation and leading a shift when required.
