Bladon House School is a residential special school for young people with complex needs including Autism, Prader Willi Syndrome, and learning difficulties. We have a national reputation for working successfully with young people who have a previous history of challenging services.
Reporting to the Registered Manager, you will provide leadership and management to a team of residential staff and young people within a residential setting.
You will already have experience of working with children and young people, particularly with autism. Having already gained a Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care or Children and Young People, you will ideally already be working towards achieving your Level 4. You will be able to demonstrate a good level of understanding of the Children's Home Regulations 2015, the development of the service, consultation and decision making at both house and department level and the management of a team of staff. You should have proven experience of working with other agencies, shift patterns and rotas, safeguarding procedures and supporting with behaviour management. You will be expected to work a shift pattern covering weekends (but you will be flexible within this to meet the needs of the service). You will undertake senior on duty, senior on call and senior sleep ins. Across a seven day period, you will ensure that the children and young people in your house are well cared for and enjoy a life style that provides them with good experiences and appropriate opportunities.
You must have at least 12 months experience in a first line management role.
