Due to recent expansion and increased production,
Bridgnorth Aluminium Ltd is recruiting for a variety of new roles, helping us to form new shifts and maintain our strong standards.

Applicants will be shortlisted against the available roles based on their experience, skills and knowledge, with a view to attending an assessment day on 15th September and psychometric assessments and interviews the following week for successful candidates. We aim to have people in place as soon as possible.

 

TSM Operator

The Thin Strip Mill Operator will function as part of an efficient and productive team to operate the machinery and plant in the TSM Cold Rolling department.

The Operator reports to The Section Leader in the first instance and ultimately to the TSM Cold Rolling Manager.

Salary: £21,640.99 plus shift allowance

Hours of work: 42 hours per week,four shift pattern working days and nights (2 x 12 hour days, 2 x 12 hour nights, 4 rest days)

Status: Permanent, Full Time

Main tasks will include:

  • Ensuring adherence to safe working practices contributing to positive safe working statistics.
  • Achieving maximum output and utilisation targets.
  • Ensuring that material is made according to the working schedule.
  • Ensuring that material is produced within suitable product quality standards.
  • Maintaining good housekeeping within working area.
  • Using plant and machinery with the area including forklift trucks and overhead cranes.

The Successful Candidate will need:

  • The dexterity to efficiently operate plant and equipment within the area. This requires a good level of control regarding safe operation.
  • The ability to drive a fork lift truck and operate the overhead cranes.
  • To be able to communicate clearly with fellow operators and Section leaders any issues arising within the shift.
  • To be able to work with minimal supervision while on shift after initial instruction.
  • To work as an effective team with a strong work ethic and good communication
  • An understanding of the safe working practices of operations within the section.
  • To know the customer quality standards expected from the process and how to maintain them.
  • Practical knowledge of the procedures, manufacturing processes, and methods within the area.

 

BWG Operator

The BWG Operator receives their instructions from the Shift Section Leader. They work as a member of a shift to produce clean, flat aluminium strip free of surface defects. 

Salary: £21,640.99 plus shift allowance

Hours of work: 42 hours per week, either a four shift pattern working days and nights (2 x 12 hour days, 2 x 12 hour nights, 4 rest days) or a 4334 pattern (4 days on, 3 days off, 3 nights on, four days off) 

Status: Permanent, Full Time

Main tasks will include:

  • Use of plant machinery and operational tasks.
  • Working at various stations including the decoiler, recoiler and pulpit.
  • Working to achieve output and utilisation targets.
  • Ensuring that material is produced within suitable product quality standards
  • Maintaining a high standard of health and safety
  • Maintaining a high level of housekeeping

The successful candidate will need:

  • The ability to receive and follow instruction from Section Leaders and Management
  • The ability to be effectively trained on plant and machinery within your area including forklift trucks and overhead crane
  • An understanding of the importance of operating targets
  • A positive and hardworking attitude with the ability able to interact with colleagues on shift and from other departments
  • A good understanding of the health and safety requirements of the area and the site as a whole

    An ability to work with a minimum of direct supervision once trained
