Service Co-ordinator - Part Time (Contract)
Hanley Centre, Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire
GBP8.50 per hour

If you have a great leadership style and experience of leading projects or services, this is an amazing opportunity to help launch a service that will support and enable older people to live their lives to the fullest.

Royal Voluntary Service is an innovative not-for-profit organisation that helps to make life better for older people in the UK. We believe that everybody should matter, regardless of how old they are. We're now looking for two Service Co-ordinators to join us on a part time basis, on a contract until the 31st May 2018.

Within an engaging and team-oriented environment, you will have the chance to make a positive, lasting impact on your local community in a role that you can fit around your existing responsibilities.

As a Service Co-ordinator, you'll implement and deliver our Supporting Your Recovery service.

This new service will ensure that older vulnerable people are offered the support they need after they've been discharged from A&E, hospital or on referral from other routes.

Specifically, you will:

- Oversee the day-to-day operation of the service, including arranging cover and organising activities
- Manage the delegation of people, resources and equipment
- Make sure that all contractual targets and quality standards are met
- Build positive and productive relationships with other voluntary and statutory bodies
- Identify and map other organisations, contacts and services that support older people in the area and identify any gaps in service need
- Handle any enquiries or complaints
- Promote Royal Voluntary Service and our work in your local area

Interested? To be considered, you will need:

- Experience of managing people and teams, including leadership, recruitment, training, supervision and management of workloads and performance
- Previous experience of successfully developing and leading projects or services, including developing project plans, monitoring and reporting performance against targets and budgets
- Experience of managing and supporting volunteers and volunteer-led support groups, including experience of recruiting, inducting, training and managing volunteers
- Substantial knowledge and experience of developing and maintaining general administrative systems and processes of using IT to support these systems, such as databases and spreadsheets
- Proficiency in industry standard IT systems to a moderate standard, such as MS Office, email and the internet
- At a minimum GCSEs (or equivalent)

Organised and results-focused, as a Service Co-ordinator, you'll be an adept multi-tasker who can lead, inspire and engage others. You'll also be enthusiastic and proactive with a collaborative approach to problem-solving.

Please note, there are two positions available, working Sunday - Wednesday or Wednesday - Saturday. Both roles are part time, working 20 hours per week.
