Infrastructure Consultant (Site Footprint) - West Midlands - Initial 3 Month Contract

Our Midlands based client is looking for an Infrastructure Consultant (Site Footprint) who will support the Group Head of Infrastructure & Operations and MIS Leadership team others in driving our footprint reduction agenda, including applications, support, security and underlying infrastructure.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:

- Collecting functional and non-functional requirements for a potential Centre of Excellence from all the companies operational areas, gaining approval of these by the programme governance functions
- Identify and resolve any mismatches between these requirements and existing MIS strategies
- Creating and delivering the MIS site design and delivery plan for approval by the programme governance
- Representing the MIS function within the Global Strategy Program as well as individual site projects (including merger, acquisition and divestiture, closure of physical locations)
- Ensuring that the MIS function and services delivered are appropriately scaled to the new client's estate and brought into service with appropriate transition
- Ensuring that appropriate project resource is aligned via the PMO and that the projects deliver the agreed business benefit

The role works within the existing Programme governance and the MIS Governance processes (Technical Design Authority, Change Approval Board, Project Approval Board and Technology Approval Board) to ensure alignment to best practices and MIS strategy.

Experience Required:

- Strong experience of delivering technology change and benefit across multiple cultures & locations;
- Experienced with & conversant in multiple technologies in Infrastructure & Operations;
- Loves learning, keeps up to date with Technology changes, enjoys trying out new technologies;
- Clear & effective communication skills (verbal, written & presentation);
- Organised and able to plan effectively;
- Manages multiple competing demands on time;
- Drives results & is motivated to improve;
- Resilient (even in the face of multiple obstacles);
- Makes sound decisions rapidly based on combination of experience & facts;
- Customer focused and is driven to achieve business relevant outcomes;

- Good commercial common sense and has experience working in & for globally diverse and federated businesses;
- Strong grasp of Security Standards (ISO 27001/2; NIST 800-53/171; DFARS 7012; CyberEssentials etc);
- Awareness of & understanding of upcoming Data Privacy legislation e.g. GDPR;
- Awareness of & understanding of best practice standards & practices including ITIL, PRINCE
