We are currently looking for a Tooling & Pressed Parts Manufacturing Engineer to work for a major automotive organisation based in Warwickshire

Job Title: Tooling & Pressed Parts Manufacturing Engineer

Experience: Relevant degree or equivalent experience preferred

Rate: From £25.00 to £27.57 per hour Ltd Co.

Hours: 40 Hours Per Week

The Role:

*The Tooling and Pressed Parts Engineering Group is responsible for sheet metal tooling programs, facilities and technologies for all company vehicles

*This includes managing the design, manufacture and successful launch of tooling into the company's nominated press facilities

*This Engineering role is responsible for specification and procurement of tools, operating from the start of die design through to final commissioning and sign-off in the company's nominated press facility

Skills Required:

3 Key Skills:

- A thorough understanding of press tool design, methods and technologies
- Knowledge and familiarity with key processes, facilities and technologies used throughout the pressed parts process chain
- Able to deal with complex technical situations and identify clear navigational paths through them

Experience Required:

*Working with Tooling Project Planners and Purchasing Group to establish a viable timeline and plan for an assigned portfolio of press tools

*Managing progress, and delivery of tooling into press facilities whilst ensuring compliance with targets for performance, quality standards, program timing and cost

*Operating as subject matter expert and 'owner' of an assigned portfolio of tooling, providing regular, structured updates on performance, quality, timing and cost

*Drive for best possible tooling outcomes by ensuring that the design phase maximises panel quality and overall 'hits per hour' performance

*Establishing a professional, engineering interface with product design and tooling vendors to ensure robust management of engineering change with minimal impact to the project outcomes

*A good level of business acumen

Experience Preferred:

*An ability to work with Tooling suppliers from EU and Asia

*Ensuring tooling complies with standards and meets or exceeds target press facility performance.

*Assuming responsibility for all aspects of panel dimensional and cosmetic quality as well as fit for purpose build in BIW assembly facilities

*Managing the interfaces with Product design, Toolmakers, BIW assembly, Quality during early build and launch phases

*Developing and reporting on KPI's

*Ensuring learning from one program to another is captured and contained within engineering standards and operating procedures

*Relevant degree or equivalent experience preferred

Additional Information:

*Whilst Warwickshire based, candidates will be expected to be mobile with extensive travel to overseas suppliers and the company Press Shops

*Frequent travel to company Press Shops & overseas

*40 hours per week with 3.30pm finish on Fridays
