Description

The role of the Implementation Manager is responsible for driving change initiatives and business re-engineering to deliver key initiatives. It has business ownership of Global change programmes and supports, leads and drives a range of diverse projects and initiatives across Global Business Management, contributing to the implementation and delivery of the Global Commercial Banking (CMB) Strategy.

The role holder is expected to support the Head of Business Implementation for the delivery of key change/transformation initiatives in the UK via close cooperation with all stakeholders within UK CMB, HTS (particularly Change Delivery and Service Delivery) and Global functions. You will also be responsible for providing analytical support to senior management within the Business Implementation team including preparing project documentation and monitoring key project deliverables. Deputises for UK CMB Head of Business Implementation as required.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing a high standard of project support to the Business Management (BM) team
  • Supporting adhoc projects and tasks
  • Supporting the Global Head of Business Management in meeting all deliverables to Global CMB Executive Committee (ExCo)
  • Evidencing a broad knowledge of all aspects of CMB, and deploy this to form effective working relationships across teams in segments, products and supporting Global Functions
  • Continually assessing areas for process and system improvements and acting upon as appropriate in agreement with country CMB Management & Chief of Staff (CoS), reporting findings to interested stakeholders
  • Managing roll out of new project plans and task deliverables with stakeholders
  • Assisting country CMB Management as needed in problem identification, design, testing, training, and deployment of change
  • Working closely with the Business Management (BM) teams in regions, countries, segments, and products to ensure project deliverables are achieved
  • Fostering professional relationships with other Global Businesses/ Functions and HOST (HSBC Operations, Services and Technology) on areas where collaboration or interaction is required at the strategic or project work stream level
  • Delivering updates to the Chief Operating Officer (COO)/Chief of Staff (CoS) office
  • Delivering fair outcomes for our customers and ensure own conduct maintains the orderly and transparent operation of financial markets
  • Supporting achievement of the HSBC vision, Values, goals and culture in personal behaviour, actions and decision making
  • Providing technical leadership and support technical excellence by searching out external best practice, monitoring technical and professional developments, sharing knowledge and encouraging others to do the same in the best interests of HSBC and its customers
  • Encouraging and enabling constructive cross-country and cross-business teamwork by demonstrating collaboration and matrix management in action and challenging actions and behaviours that are not consistent with HSBC's diversity policy and/or the best interests of the business and its customers
  • Developing and recommending changes and improvements to operating models, procedures and practices based on subject matter expertise and understanding of HSBC and market best practice
  • Communicating and adhering to HSBC policy and procedures in order to ensure good operational, financial and project management, policy and procedural compliance and early identification and effective resolution or escalation of issues that arise
  • Contributing to the development, implementation and maintenance of a CMB management information, analysis and reporting framework that supports and informs timely and effective business management and decision making at all levels
  • Contributing to the implementation and monitoring of the application of CMB policies, governance frameworks, procedures, practices and standards to ensure quality, effective risk management and regulatory compliance

Qualifications

The ideal candidate for this role will have:

  • Experience working in a relevant environment i.e. Strategic Change, Project Management
  • Previous working knowledge of the changing regulatory environment especially within the financial sector
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
  • A good understanding of the CMB Business is desirable but not essential
  • Prince 2 qualification or equivalent is desirable but not essential
  • A flexible and adaptable approach to change and will support others to respond in a similar way
  • A track record of making strategic business decisions, considering relevant risks, long term implications, commercial realities and stakeholders’ needs
  • Experience of creating and deploying comprehensive business/operating plans which consistently deliver desired results
  • A successful track record of delivering complex projects and/or programmes, utilising appropriate techniques and tools to ensure and measure success
  • Used their business knowledge and understanding of customer needs to successfully manage and grow customer relationships
