Process Engineer (Press Shop)
Purpose of the Process Engineer role;
Support the introduction of new processes into the press shop and continuously improve current process OEE through robust and objective engineering and problem solving. The position is full-time and permanent based within an automotive manufacturing and production environment.
Key Requirements of the Process Engineer role;
Have the ability to develop and successfully achieve project timing requirements.
To be a minimum of HNC Qualified, ideally qualified to Degree level in an Engineering or Manufacturing and Production discipline.
To have experience in a metal pressing or automotive environment.
To have experience/the ability to work autonomously.
To preferably have experience in a metal pressing or automotive environment.
To have general computer literacy with a working knowledge of all relevant software packages such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Project.
To have the ability to plan and manage resources to achieve objectives and priorities despite conflicting agendas and multiple deliveries.
Must be committed to ensuring that Health & Safety is of paramount importance.
Responsibilities of the Process Engineer role;
Material reduction/identify opportunities.
Identify and schedule improvement opportunities regarding SMED development etc.
Identifying opp's regarding the improvement of new/current plant tools to support the reduction of rework in plant, driving through improvement actions.
Support introduction of new tooling into the Staffordshire plant/production including procurement & development.
Review and support component feasibility with regards to tooling processes.
Support 'A' Layout reviews.
Support Tooling design reviews from a plant perspective.
Supporting tooling buy off activity.
Support engineering changes to die tooling.
Identifying Opportunities regarding the improvement of new/current Plant Tools to support the SMED Activity, driving through improvement actions.
Check/improve run at rate.
Reduce downtime with improvements to equipment i.e. fingers, process etc.
Hours / Shifts of the role;
38 hours basic per week. Monday - Friday, overtime and weekend work may be required. Based onsite in Staffordshire, adhoc travel may be required on occasion.
