Culina Group a well established leader in the logistics market is recruiting for a Transport Coordinator on a permanent basis at our Stafford depot.

The role holder will be responsible for but not limited to the following:

- Effectively planning driver and vehicle resource to achieve delivery/collection times, creating and updating daily run summary
- Liaising with the shunting operation, covering pre loading and unloading operation
- Ensuring that service levels are achieved and maintained, in conjunction with other departments
- Optimising of resource and adherence of WTD and drivers' hours legislation
- Using the Driver Rota, plan drivers according to shift pattern and available hours, taking into account holidays and sickness
- Controlling equipment through sign in/sign out procedure
- Ensuring legal compliance regarding any defects, services, MOT's etc
- Carrying out disciplinary hearings, return to work meetings, substance misuse procedure etc in order to maintain standards and ensuring that employees work at an appropriate level
- Ensuring any risk assessments at depot are organised and carried out accordingly
- Ensuring all accidents/incidents/near miss are logged and reported in line with company procedures
- Maintaining clear and effective communication with drivers, communicating accurate start times, load information, directions, additional shifts etc
- Increasing staff retention and maintaining good morale, reporting any driver's issues or concerns to management. In turn, communicating any operational changes that may affect a driver's daily duties
- Ensuring adherence to all statutory and legal requirements
- Adhering to all Health & Safety/ safe systems of work

Competence Requirements:

- Significant knowledge & experience of tachograph/ driving rules and regulations
- CPC National desirable but not essential
- Previous management/ supervisory experience
- Attention to detail/accuracy
- Planning and organising skills, high level of numeracy
- Negotiating skills, ability to influence and steer
- Ability to work without direct supervision
- Adaptable and methodical approach to work/training
- Conscientious and reliable
- Excellent communication skills in order to deliver accurate information
- Good IT skills including Microsoft office packages
- The ability to work efficiently and accurately under pressure
- Effectively prioritise work load in order to meet set deadlines
- Able to work as part of a team or individually
- Have knowledge of Road Transport Directive and current drivers' hours
- Be professional, approachable and helpful to ensure smooth running of the general operation
- Significant transport experience in FMCG environment

Shifts: Rotating 06:00 - 18:00/18:00 - 06:00 4 on 4 off
