This a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious Finance Assistant to join a market leading company at their site in Leamington Spa. The Finance Assistant must be AAT qualified and/or studying towards a professional qualification. Finance Assistant duties include:

  • Input of invoices for Overheads
  • Ensure that all invoices are allocated against Purchase orders and or contracts
  • Maintain a register of all contracts, start & end dates with contract values.
  • Allocate all costs to correct accounts, cost centres and project costs.
  • Prepare payments in line with supplier terms.
  • Ensure that approval is obtained for all invoices prior to any commitment for expenditure
  • To allocate amounts clearing bank accounts on a daily basis.
  • To take responsibility of overhead invoices
  • To support cost centre managers with related budgets.
  • Advice cost centre managers on monthly cost analysis.
  • Prepare and analyse outstanding creditors report and action monthly.
  • To support validation of P&L at month end.
  • Post to the accounts all accruals required for month closing.
  • To ensure monthly target dates for reporting are met.
  • Raise supplier rejection charges, with all supporting documentation
  • Prepare weekly/monthly cash flow forecasts to ensure that funding requirements are met for all currency bank accounts and adequate cash usage is optimised.
  • To understand the procedures and processes both internal and external to the department to correctly account for all transactions to comply with audit requirements
  • Represent the department with internal and external customers & suppliers.
  • To ensure compliance to company & external audit requirements.
  • Establish and maintain effective communication systems with internal and external customers.
  • Work on own initiative by planning and organising workload in order to meet monthly timetable deadlines.
  • Conduct supplementary projects/tasks as directed.
  • Stand in for other members of the department as directed.
  • Remain flexible and reactive to changing operational requirements.
