Purpose of Role

To liaise with clients, temporary workers and contractors regarding safety issues on site and to identify advise and support all stakeholders in improving the safety culture and reducing accidents on site.

Principal Accountabilities

-Maintain an up-to-date list of safety contacts for all major projects and internal and external customers. -Develop a programme of site visits - prioritised by size of project, volume of workers on site, projects involving significant risk -Visit all sites that have SkyBlue temporary worker or contractors engaged on it -Raise customer perception of SkyBlue’s attention and support to health and safety issues and activities -Conduct site visits to meet with clients, and then maintain regular contact to understand their safety strategies, concerns, and receive their feedback on SkyBlue temporary workers and contractors -Gain feedback direct from temporary workers and contractors on client’s sites regarding all site safety issues -Encourage the involvement of temporary workers and contractors in the client’s safety strategy -Generally improve the safety culture and behaviour -Ensure we are notified of all site accidents, attend site where appropriate, and are involved in the accident investigation process. -Reduce unauthorised absenteeism by engagement with the temporary worker -Report back to SMT and clients. -Provide feedback to all stakeholders on lessons learnt from incidents and accidents -Conduct regular visits to all SkyBlue branches and depots to deliver safety awareness briefings and training -Support the development of a safety driven culture in SkyBlue branches and depots -Support the development of internal activities, processes and procedures concerning safety issues -Provide a single point of contact for the client to feedback on safety and competency matters -Provide support for site / client safety initiatives -Provide feedback back to the client regarding views of the temporary workers and contractors on site -Quick resolution of any safety issues/concerns on site if possible -Engage with internal IMS Advisor on official H&S requirements -Provide a ‘second pair of eyes’ on site to review safety -Improved safety culture with the aim of reducing accidents and incidents -Provide a 24 hour on call service -Engage with the temporary workers and contractors to encourage them to have a say and offer their opinion -Check that the client has safe systems and working practices -Provide a neutral point of contact to the temporary worker and contractor -Reduced the volume of accidents and incidents -Improve the relationship with clients in relation to the safety perception Specific to Team Leader -Supervise, train and develop a team of Worker Engagement Coordinators to deliver the above -Ensure all staff in the team have clearly defined monthly objectives and targets which are monitored and recorded

Additional Role Information

Must possess extensive Rail exposure and hold relevant Rail qualifications such as PTS and COSS.
