Main Purpose of the Job

To lead and manage a team of HR operations professionals, delivering first class service across the full range of HR operating activities.

Key relationships


Internal: Business wide for HR queries, HR advisors and Heads of Departments, payroll and finance teams, Practice Operation Managers.
External: Suppliers including systems; payroll, agencies, candidates, travel providers.


Main Duties and Responsibilities


Responsible for leading and motivating a newly-formed HR operations team, providing first-class service to a wide variety of users across the business.
Experienced in all aspects of HR, with an excellent working knowledge of operational HR, recruitment and learning and development requirements.
Have experience of motivating a team within a HR shared service model, and able to provide advice, coaching and training to develop individuals.
Used to managing multiple stakeholder relationships with conflicting deadlines, and providing regular communication on current and future priorities.
Experience of managing external suppliers to ensure best value and service levels.
Monitoring the day to day work flow to ensure a consistently high service to all employees, and meet agreed service level standards.
Producing qualitative and quantitative MI to enable evidence-based decisions on process and service level improvements.
Experienced in process review techniques and implementing solutions.
Ensure all HR-related events are managed effectively and deliver a professional 'Face of the Firm' to external audiences.
Be willing to actively support the team with daily activities as and when required.
Add valuable insight to wider HR process reviews and input to project work streams.
Build a philosophy of continuous improvement; learning and communicating using techniques such as team huddles to drive efficiency and effectiveness.
The role will require occasional travel to the firms London office.


Key skills and experience


Previous experience of managing and motivating a successful team in a fast-paced environment, ideally within a HR shared service.
Able to demonstrate the Firm's values and act as a positive role model.
Demonstrates enthusiasm for change, quick to identify and implement improvements.
Able to prioritise workloads and delegate effectively, whilst giving constructive feedback and coaching.
Works collaboratively with wider teams, and able to adapt communication style to others.
A good working knowledge of HR practice and principles across all disciplines.
Experience in data management and MI production with excellent IT skills and a high focus on attention to detail.
Detailed knowledge of continuous improvement techniques.
