Omega Resource Group are currently looking for a Facilities Maintenance Engineer for a Tier 1 Automotive client in the Midlands area. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone from either an automotive or industrial facilities background.

Principle Accountability's of the role:

*To ensure adherence to all relevant Health and Safety procedures with a proactive approach to all potential H&S issues and awareness.

*Other aspects of the role include plumbing and testing of test fire pumps, sprinkler systems routinely, including Fire Alarm testing

*Monthly and weekly Test checks will also include portable testing, and the carrying out daily, weekly and monthly health and safety checks.

*Corrective action where required on all appliances including the reporting of problems and/or unsafe practices to relevant Manager and Health and Safety,together with any recommendations for improvements.

*Contact external contractors as required and accompany/assist them while on site providing support to ensure installation deadlines are met.

*Ensure there are adequate supplies of spares on site for commonly used parts or those with a long lead time.

*Minor troubleshooting & maintenance of office equipment if required.

*Ensure full and timely reporting of all significant problems or repair requirements.

*Undertake dynamic risk assessments, assisting with all equipment installations when required

Apprenticeship or time-served in a relevant electrical qualification
BASIC plumbing skills
Understanding of Health and Safety Principles and legislation
Asbestos awareness
Ability to complete risk assessments
A working knowledge and understanding of COSH
IPAF licence an advantage
Computer Literate
Self motivated
Ability to work as part of a team and under own initiative
Ability to find faults and problem solve
Good communication skills essential
Willing to be flexible in terms of working hours and shift patterns
Availability for overtime
