General Practice Accountant

Due to the complexities involved in medical finance it will appeal to someone already involved in the finance function of a GP Surgery, Medical Centre, Foundation or NHS Hospital or an individual who wants to specialise and make a role their own due to the variety of issues. You could be offering expert advice on accounts, personal tax and pensions, together with bespoke bookkeeping, cost control, VAT and management accounts services on any given day.
Regular responsibilities may include (but are not limited to):
Acting as second contact to a portfolio of GP clients, ensuring assignments are effectively managed and IRIS Practice Manager is kept up to date - Prepare management information and VAT returns accurately and timely for an agreed number of clients - Participate in client meetings as requested and manage client expectations by ensuring they are always kept up to date and understand all of the work produced - Deliver an excellent level of customer service, managing and exceeding client expectations, responding to all ad hoc queries in a timely manner - Maintain up to date technical knowledge and attend all relevant training, conferences and seminars
AAT qualified and experience of working in practice or extensive accounting experience within a surgery/medical centre - have a good understanding of personal and partnership tax - Be computer literate (particularly Microsoft Office), and be able to adapt to using new software quickly and easily (Sage, IRIS, etc.)
