As an Operations Controller you will be responsible for the day to day management for the Central Sub Contract Desk - Waste Control Tower & External/Internal Growth within the UK&I. The role is accountable for the day to day management (including sourcing, operational and commercial management) of transactional transport services operating across all divisions. The role is measured against specific targets for revenue, growth & EAC. To support the operational business and development teams to convert the strategy into profitable and sustainable new business. Develop and provide managed transport services, sub-contract solutions and clearing services to DSC and external customers delivering value to both. Sourcing ad hoc external business to complement internal fleets and third party carrier lanes. Provide Expert support in the Subcontract market. Responsible for delivering circa 112,000 full load movements for internal customers and 43 external customers.

Key Responsibilities in this role will include;

Day to day management of transactional charging through internal and external business sales.
Individual route margin management
Strategic integration of account sub contraction via the "pooling" of national volumes
Tactical entrepreneurial improvisation on a route by route basis for the Ad hoc and last minute request market
Manage a central team of 2 ensuring all regional & national collective targets are met - both commercial & compliance
Working in collaboration with PCM roll out the Carrier Management Strategy programme - manage the 329 allocated hauliers (daily activity control through to corporate compliance)
Grow the external business via ad hoc requirements - working in collaboration with business development
Manage the contracted business all aspects of M & S, Envirosutions ad external contracts including review cycles, business renewals, issue resolution and organic business growth.

Key skills and experience in this role will include:

In depth understanding of the UK&I sub contract market and external business requirements
In depth understanding of the UK&I internal "loads offered" via CFX
Great understanding of DHL's transport business and the importance of communication & proactive reporting
Meticulous thinker, communicator, proven sales and entrepreneur
Ability to provide constructive, supportive feedback on training delivery
Able to travel within UK&I
Knowledge of third party sub contract networks
Knowledge of internal accounts national sub contraction collection & delivery points
Full understanding of existing CFX system
Extensive knowledge of SCE and its existing operations and growth plans
Extensive knowledge of computer processing
