Purpose:

At Meggitt business information is increasingly a strategic competitive asset, enabling and maximizing business process improvements. Master Data is a key component of our information that is used across different functional areas and systems daily. The Master Data Administrator shall provide business wide guidance, and support relating to data standards, processes and procedures. Investigating data concerns and facilitating consensus for change with relevant functions. Coordinates and facilitates the activities of the newly formed Information Governance Councils and Standardised Working Groups. Ensures Information Governance standards are defined, understood, and communicated across Meggitt, so that data is accurate, compliant with policy, and regulatory obligations. Conducts transactional data changes within business Master Data Governance system, and ERP (SAP) directly, and acts as a catalyst for continuous improvement in data quality.

SPECIFIC ACCOUNTABILITIES
Information Governance Councils and Standardised Working Groups - approximately 50% of role
o Facilitates, prepares and publish Information Governance Council, and Data Standards Working Group meetings, and minutes
o Leverages deep knowledge to embed and advance information governance council effectiveness providing training as required
o Provide Project Management support, defining business benefit for all activities, setting data quality priorities, and task tracking
o Building broad support amongst senior stakeholders, SBUs, BU's and functions across the Business and MIS
o Supports Information Governance vision, and promotes a supportive culture of Information Governance
o Facilitates consensus between stakeholders, and ensures compliance with regulatory obligations
o Create processes to monitor and ensure adherence with policy, including Data Quality metrics
o Facilitates resolution of data conflicts and disputes with relevant functions and data owners
o Supports proactive processes to minimise data, and process issues

Master Data Maintenance - approximately 30% of role
o Provide support to the business and functions to ensure data is consistent with policy, cleansed & harmonized across Meggitt
o Creation and administration of global master data covering; Material, Supplier, Customer, Finance and Classification masters
o Establish and maintain classification values and structures through governance of control document and request process
o Responsible for the creation and administration of solution change requests and track development with MIS
o Schedule and carry out regular master data audits, report findings and coordinate resolution
o Review use of data elements across clients, and when instructed apply global / local blocks
o Train, guide and educate 'user' community in information standards, policy, and processes
o Monitor data replication process, and where necessary implement corrective actions
o Managing parameter changes, and transports across systems
Policy, Process & Procedures - approximately 20% of role
o Develops procedural documentation to ensure data standards / definitions are clear, concise and distributed to user community
o Establishment of central Intranet / SharePoint portal hosting all agreed standards, conventions, and data owners
o Administration and maintenance of central function 'help desk' / general office administration duties
o Prepares, agrees and communicates monthly master data statistics report
o Monitor and report data compliance with policies and procedures
o Develop and maintain data dictionary policy
o Publish monthly report, KPI's, and news letter

TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS
Required
o Educated to degree level in information technology, engineering, business administration, or proven relevant SAP experience
o Ability to foster good working relationships across multiple functions, and deliver to tight deadlines, prioritising work appropriately
o Aptitude to work on own initiative, managing multiple projects / activities, and exercise own judgment with discretion
o Familiarity in handling numerous senior stakeholders in a neutral, independent, unbiased manner
o Proven planning, organisational, analytical, interpersonal and problem-solving skills
o Outstanding administration skills, including oral and written communication
o PC literate with experience of MS Office applications, specifically Excel, Visio
o Experience of writing policies, procedures and guidance documents
o Highly motivated, with the ability to focus on detail

Desirable
o Previous experience as Project Manager / Coordinator working within Data Governance, Change Management / Lean arenas
o Awareness and understanding of confidentiality, and information governance and security principles
o Awareness of SAP Information Steward, Data Services, Master Data Governance applications
o Knowledge of relevant legislation Data Protection Act, General Data Protection Regulation
o Broad working knowledge of business functions & operations

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Position will be based at either Coventry or Fareham facilities, travel maybe required circa 2-4 days per month .During the first, and last months of assignment the role will be based at Coventry facility
