An excellent opportunity has arisen for a CTA/ACA/ACCA qualified (or part qualified) Corporate Tax Consultant to join Dains Accountancy within our Corporate Tax department based (Birmingham office).

We are looking to recruit a Corporate Tax Consultant who is experienced in working with SME’s, Academy’s, Owner Managed Businesses and International Groups on a variety of engagements (advisory and compliance).

You will be responsible for building and maintaining strong relationships with clients and work well with the people around you.

The role:

• The role will be under the supervision of and reporting to the relevant Tax Managers and Partners.
• Preparation and submission of Corporation Tax Computations and CT600’s.
• Dealing with basic tax queries on behalf of clients.
• Contact with H M Revenue & Customs as necessary.
• Routine tax advisory assignments under the guidance of the Tax Managers and Tax Partners.
• General client administration.
• Qualified to ACA / CTA or similar level.

Key duties and responsibilities:

• To assist with the management of a portfolio of clients to ensure that all Tax computations and Corporate Tax Returns are prepared and submitted to H M Revenue & Customs by the due dates.
• Calculation of the client’s tax liabilities together with a reconciliation of the tax due and advising clients accordingly.
• Initial preparation for meetings under the instruction and guidance of the Tax Partners and other senior members of the Tax Department.
• Attendance at meetings with clients, potential clients and contact with the Tax Partner and other senior members of the Tax Department.
• Preparation of meeting notes using the firm’s standard format.
• Circulation of meeting notes and following up on action points.
• Undertaking routine tax advisory assignments under the guidance of the Tax Partners and other Tax Managers within the Department.
• General client administration.
