CONTRACTS MANAGEREstablished 10 years ago, this company have gone from strength to strength and are now the leading specialist within their field. Contracts Manager is a pivotal role in the team and requires an individual with a wealth of experience, a strong personality and a flexible ‘can do attitude’.

You will be responsible for managing and coordinating several projects simultaneously across the business so strong organisational and communication skills are a must.

A civil engineering background gained within a large, established contracting business would be a distinct advantage as you’ll be expected to develop and implement working processes and practices that will assist the company’s growth aspirations.

This role offers an exciting challenge, fast paced role, international travel and an attractive salary of £35 - £40k!

The main responsibilities as Contracts Manager will be as follows:

  • Review main contracts and interpret requirements and implications as a sub-contractor.
  • Manage client relationships to ensure that they are kept to a high level.
  • Make sure all reports are updated & presented as required.
  • Report directly into the Managing Director with any major issues that arise.
  • Manage costs and extra labour as and when required.
  • Manage sub-contractors.
  • Full financial involvement including P & L and budgets.
  • Ensure that programme of works is adhered to.
  • Deliver high quality services demonstrating continuous improvement, to the measurable satisfaction of clients.
  • Monitor and develop service delivery standards, manage senior client interfaces and seek and act upon client feedback, both externally and internally.
  • Lead, manage, motivate and develop staff to improve their performance and achieve their potential, including clear succession planning.
  • Champion Safety, Health & Environment on site, liaising with company Compliance Manager for continuous improvement and performance management.
  • To ensure compliance with statutory, corporate requirements with a particular focus on Safety, Health and Environmental Management and Quality systems.
  • To contribute to best practice in sector development
  • To ensure effective communication with staff, and feedback in terms of corporate and local objectives and performance.
Day to day duties include:

  • Project planning
  • Programme of works
  • Cost control
  • Quality and Health & Safety
  • Conversant with invoices & contracts
  • Project management from start to completion – bringing the job in on time and in budget
  • Contract correspondence – clients/head office
  • To represent the company at progress meetings, design meetings, internal cost meetings, safety meetings etc.
