Our Original Equipment Manufacturing client have an immediate requirement for an Electrical Service Engineer on a permanent basis.
This client manufactures equipment used in the marine industry and you would be responsible for the complete life cycle of their manufactured products from site assembly & test, installation, commissioning, repair and maintenance located worldwide.The role involves extensive travel offshore anywhere from 2 days up to 8 weeks per trip, to be successful you must have strong Electrical/Controls/PLC background.
Ideally you will currently hold all necessary offshore certificates i.e BOSIET, MIST, Offshore Medical, however full offshore training would be provided for the right candidate along with product training which would be for the first 6 months in-house.
Ideally you will live in Shropshire for commuting during the week, When on site you will have use of a company van, laptop & mobile phone and once working offshore you qualify for additional allowances.
Responsibilities You will be responsible for the service, maintenance, installation and repair of Electrical/PLC systemsAttend breakdowns and undertake fault findingIdentify faults and repairing products to enable Set to workLiaise with customers and ensure that they are up to date on progressReport back to Service Manager via telephone or computer and keep informed with the progressYou will also be required to use a wide variety of testing equipment like load cellsAdvise customers on best possible solutions to ensure that the equipment is working to the best of its abilityReport writing on the `Scope of works carried out`You will have a strong multi-skilled background within Electrical/PLC and be able to fault find and modify PLC programmes at customer sites, knowledge of 1 or 2 PLC suppliers is expected and further training on other will be given.
  • You will have served a recognised Electrical apprenticeship
  • Ability to fault find electrical/PLC issues
  • Fully conversant with drawings including electrical/PLC schematic
