Role Purpose:

The Business Development team is a high performing specialist team focused on supporting new business opportunities across our 34 regional offices. The team work nationally managing high value opportunities across multiple service lines and regions.

The Junior Bid Manager would be part of the business development team. Reporting to Team Leader - South, the Junior Bid Manager will be focused on helping to prepare sales documents, tenders, bids, pitches and presentations supporting national opportunities with a focus on supporting opportunities in Super Regions 4, 5 and 6.

Key Responsibilities:

Objective: Provide bid co-ordination and management support in the creation of compelling sales documents and presentations. This includes the development of win strategy, persuasive writing, reviewing and editing bid content, managing designers / external suppliers / consultants.

Assist with the production of bid documents (RFI, EOI, PQQ and tenders) by using LSH standard responses and tailored answers to complete tenders. Create, format and produce documents and presentations for bids, tenders, pitches and proposals using Microsoft Office.Maintain and update bid collateral library (CVs, case studies, standard FAQ responses)Support bid kick-off meetings and draft bid programme to ensure all members of the opportunity team have been assigned tasks.Undertake research where necessary.Assist with and coordinate the production of tender documents meeting strict deadlines, ensure that all tender instructions relating to production and submission are compliant.Arrange printing and binding of bid documents.Support and help Bid Managers and Bid Leads within the national bid team to complete and deliver all bid related tasks. This includes providing 1:1 training to support staff in regions to complete PQQ and RFIs. Support, assist and help the administration staff in other LSH offices with advice on document formatting/production and graphics where appropriate.If design is required, brief, liaise with, and manage design and print productionAssist with the management of e-procurement portals. Retrieve bid documentation for distribution, upload completed bid documents and ensure LSH supplier accounts are kept up to date and support framework management teams.Using CRM to maintain a pipeline of opportunities and client information and run reports (win/loss/feedback) when required,Skills Required:

  • Ability to work under pressure and adhere to strict deadlines
  • Highly organised with the ability to multitask
  • Ability to work on own initiative and pro-actively support the needs of the bid teams
  • Excellent writing skills, interpersonal / communication skills, with high attention to detail
  • Have a methodical outlook with the ability to resolve problems / issues as they arise
  • Ability to work as a team member, including being flexible and supportive of other team members
  • Technical Skills:

    Advanced use of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Adobe Acrobat
  • Familiarity of Microsoft Project and Visio, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe InDesign and Adobe Photoshop would be an advantage
  • Ability to format reports and produce and deal with large documents
  • Ability to format reports and produce and manipulate data accurately.
  • Qualifications/Experience Required

  • Educated to degree level
  • Experience providing bid support or sales co-ordination background
  • A keen interest or knowledge of design/print production is advantageous1- 2 years experience of working in a bid management / business development environmentUnderstanding of a broad range of competitive tendering and sales processesLambert Smith Hampton is an equal opportunity employer.
