Area Planning and Scheduling Lead
About the role
You will be required to optimise the effectiveness of a field force that operates and maintains Severn Trent's above ground water and waste assets by planning, scheduling and distributing the planned and reactive work on a daily and weekly basis. The successful candidate will lead a team of county-based area team leaders and their teams of planners, dispatchers and planning assistants to design the plan and enable the distribution of the plan. Key duties will include working collaboratively with operations, central planning functions and contact partners, optimise available capacity and continuously improve the effectiveness of the schedule through better use of people, systems and technology.
The successful candidate will be experienced in managing in a work flow planning environment, including knowledge of strategic and tactical work force/task planning. They will need to be organised and have an operational or manufacturing background where their ability to deal with issues at short notice will be crucial. Experience of using SAP & Click will be beneficial but not essential to get on in this role, as having a 'Right first time' attitude and focusing on the quality of work will stand you in great stead.
