Senior Design Specialist
About the Role
This role provides support and assistance to the Developer Services teams across the full span of processes, including providing excellent customer service to internal and external customers. You will be responsible for the evaluation of design and build for Water and Waste complex and large asset connection requests. The role will provide technical support to a team of design technicians and support the delivery of zero failures against both company and legislative service levels. The role holder will act as a point of contact and escalation for the Customer, as well as the site operatives, to ensure both clarity of requirement and a high level of service, ensuring that a design brief is produced that meets both the Customers and Severn Trent's expectations. The role will actively seek to improve relationships with our key developer customers with a focus on collaborative working to meet with the needs of both parties. You will ensure all aspects of design and maintenance meet the appropriate regulatory, statutory and legal guidance, whilst ensuring that timescale limitations are met.
With strong customer and client relationship management skills and experience, the successful candidate will also have knowledge of the Developer Services processes and good IT skills. A high level of technical Water and Waste knowledge is key for this role, as is strong experience in Sewerage and/or Distribution Law and water regulations. Experience of complying with industry standard measures is essential. In order to succeed in this role it is expected that you have a HNC, Degree, or equivalent, in an Engineering discipline, alongside a high degree of professionalism and competence. You will have excellent people and communication skills, with the ability to interact with all levels of both internal and external stakeholders. Influencing skills are expected in order to succeed in this position, as is an approach that identifies and promotes areas for continuous improvement.
