Product Manager:

Department: Marketing & Product Design

Accountable To: Marketing Director

A lead member of the marketing & product design team committed to the ambition of becoming the best in the industry, delivering market leading products and an inspirational experience across all brand touch points. You will work closely with the marketing director to understand the brand ambitions and develop and execute strategies to develop range authority & innovation.

The Role

You will play a lead role in the development and execution of the business's product strategy to significantly promote turnover, improve brand awareness, and accelerate the commercial pace and market perception of the brand across our three distinct channels.

Key Responsibilities are:

- Developing product plans to ensure the company objectives are met in line with the strategy, budgets and sales forecasts
- Continuous development of each channel product mix to maximise profitability and develop range authority
- Ownership and development of range architecture across all product categories
- Work closely with R&D Manager to implement continual product improvements
- Work closely with procurement manager to develop sourcing strategy for finished products
- Identify new sourcing opportunities to broaden finished product ranges
- Identification and delivery of new product opportunities in both the current markets and in new market areas.
- Ownership of product pricing and on-going competitor benchmarking
- Develop and maintain a detailed level of technical knowledge of product, using this knowledge, you will provide your creative input into each project.
- Develop and refine process for market, competitor & gap analysis aimed at increasing our market share & growth of the business.
- Develop & refine trend analysis to support feasibility and business cases to develop new products
- Working closely with Product Design, Marketing and Sales to effectively project manage and plan all new product/range launches to the market.
- Category manage all key product range sales linking with new opportunities and sales targets.
- Recommend action to extend product life.
- Continuously look for opportunities for product development.
- Work closely with Quality Manager to ensure product compliance
- Ownership & development of product promotional programme across all customer groups, working closely with marketing to plan and manage performance of product promotions.
- Ensure consistent and accurate product and sales coding on the system.
- Develop training documentation and deliver appropriate product training.
- Develop & refine measurement of product performance & suite of product reports
- Work closely with product development and procurement teams to identify cost efficiencies through improved sourcing and value reengineering
- Must have excellent analytical skills, and advanced experience using excel with pivot tables for reporting purposes
- You may need to carry out any other duties within the business as and when required. This list is not exhaustive, and may be changed at any time to include other tasks. You may also, at times, be expected to cover for other members of the marketing team, and therefore carry out some or all of the tasks set in their job description.

· Monthly activities report to Marketing Director

- Marketing board reports as and when required


Part responsibility for Product & Marketing Coordinator

Budget responsibility:

Ensure product development activities are planned and delivered within marketing budget constraints

The Person:

- We are looking for a product manager with at least 5 years' product management experience, preferably from the home improvement industry, although not essential.
- You will be able to work equally effectively within a team, cross functionally and independently
- Be able to take direction and communicate effectively at all levels.
- You will be a confident person who is self-motivated and enthusiastic.
- Be pro-active, approachable innovative and analytical.
- A high level of bathroom or fitted furniture product knowledge would be desirable
- You will be an energetic, passionate, driven individual capable of delivering a wide range of projects at pace.
- You must be a highly credible and motivational individual who possess the necessary leadership, management and relationship building capabilities to be successful in this high-profile role.
- You must be a strategically minded, results driven professional with a practical "can do will do" attitude, and be capable of leading improvements and change.
- To be successful the individual must have proven leadership and problem solving skills, with the ability to share a vision and have effective influencing capabilities to make a tangible and sustained difference in the Company.
- You will have strong written and communications skills
- The role will require travel within the UK and overseas.
- You will be educated to degree level & preferably be trained in project management
