Media Relations Officer - Fixed term until 31 March 2020
Salary: £33,525 - £37,738 per annum

We are the pan-Midlands partnership of local transport authorities, local enterprise partnerships and local business representatives working with the Department for Transport and its key delivery bodies. The partnership forms the transport component of the Midlands Engine for Growth. Our strategy for growth through investment in transport infrastructure will create more and better jobs, improve the quality of life for those living in the Midlands, as well as attract even more international businesses to the region; a region that is the largest economic area outside of London and the first to benefit from HS2.

As our new Media Relations Officer, you will play a key role in developing our compelling narratives and ensuring they are heard by those who matter. You will be experienced in successfully managing local, regional and national media relations in a complex partnership and political landscape. You will need to be a strong writer, adept at working across digital and traditional channels and able to provide robust advice, guidance and briefing to colleagues and senior leaders. You will also understand the big picture and know how to use individual campaigns and stories to deliver a wider high-profile strategy.

Above all you will know how to create and deliver impactful and influential messaging and campaigns at the right time, through the right channel, to the right people.
