An ambitious multinational company, operating in the defence industry, is looking for a first class software engineer to join their fast-paced dynamic environment and to play a part in their continued growth. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute towards new product ideas, research design and development and carry out testing. You will also have the responsibility of leading one of the company's products. Job title: Senior Embedded Linux Software Engineer Location: Herefordshire Salary: £50,000 - £60,000 (depending on experience) About the role: You will have the opportunity to own the software solution for assigned projects/products as well as contributing towards new product ideas, product research design & development, specifications and testing. You will also develop product requirements and architectures from loose customer requirements and maintain the company's software engineering tools infrastructure and relevant documentation (requirements, design, test, interface, manuals) Key skills: Linux programming on embedded systems, using ARM processors in C Linux scripting Construction of Linux filesystems and build environments Hardware interfacing and driver development Linux kernel development Embedded software development Able to document requirements, design, testing and interface Unit testing and test driven development Integrating and verifying embedded software with hardware Highly desirable skills: Broad knowledge of programming languages including C, C++, python, Qt, Java Hardware interfacing and driver development Radio domain knowledge Experience working with a military products, notably ECM and Counter RC-IED Working to coding guidelines and standards, (e.g. MISRA) Use of static analysis tools Experience with a range of tools supporting software development, such as git, Jenkins, and MantisTo be successful in this job you will either have, or be in a position to obtain SC clearance and have a Bachelor's or higher degree in computer science or related subject.
