Controls Engineer

We seek a Controls Engineer to work within a state-of-the-art manufacturing and assembly facility producing products for the automotive industry. The engineering processes are varied in nature, ranging from hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical, machine setting and PLC controls etc.

We are seeking:

- Experience of working with/fault finding mechanical, electrical, pneumatics and hydraulics etc.
- Programming/commissioning /fault finding on Vision systems, scanners, drives, robots, SCADA etc.
- Previous experience providing technical support/out of hours support (where required)
- Siemens S7 (Simatic manager) and WinCC flex, with the ability to write new programs, adapt/modify existing and fault find to a high level. Knowledge of indirect addressing is also deemed useful.
- Confidence and ability to work independently and be relied upon for technical support.
- Knowledge of CAD would be beneficial for reading & modifying engineering drawings
- Proven record showing the ability to program and develop new systems/machines from scratch
- KUKA/ABB robot experience, operation and programming.


- Good level of general Fault finding skills (ideally have a maintenance background)
- Deep understanding of Electrical/Mechanical/ Pneumatic and Hydraulic schematics and drawings and the ability to transfer this into real world skills (i.e. must be able to read the drawing and then locate that component on the machine)
- Qualified to a minimum HNC/HND level with circa 5+ years proven experience in an electrically biased discipline.
- Good all-round knowledge in the understanding & integration various control systems (i.e. drives, vision & safety circuits).
- Fully conversant in, and ability to demonstrate Siemens S7 PLC (S7 200/300/400) & skilled to a programming level
- Fully conversant in, and ability to demonstrate WinCC systems & other automation interfaces i.e. HMI's
