In the first two years of this five year price control, Severn Trent has had leading performance across the industry against the Ofwat Outcomes - making a real difference in the areas that our customers have told us matter most! Severn Trent's 8 million customers know that whatever the weather, whenever they turn on their taps, we'll deliver high quality drinking water, and take away their waste water. Behind this 24-7 achievement is our strong Water team. They manage hundreds of river and reservoir systems, and 16 surface water treatment works to treat 1900 million litres of water every day, delivered through our 46,000 km network of water mains. In addition, every day, Severn Trent's 1,600-strong Waste team remove 1.4 billion litres of waste water through a network of sewers and drains long enough to circle the earth twice. They clean water at 1,026 treatment works before putting it back into our region's rivers - currently in a better condition than at any time since the Industrial Revolution. It's largely thanks to their hard work and constant innovation that today we have the country's lowest bills - and that tomorrow our water stays in safe hands.
