Bewdley is a picturesque Georgian town set on the River Severn, full of history and many splendid buildings. Located in the Wyre forest in the Heart of England, this area is readily accessible from most parts of the country. It is just 18 miles south west of Birmingham, 15 miles to the north of Worcester and less than an hour from Stratford-upon-Avon. It is served by a good motorway network and has excellent links to the M5; M6; M40 and M42.

This lively and welcoming terraced pub dating from 1845 originally brewed its own ales until 1923, and still has information about its interesting history displayed upon the walls. There is single large comfortable lounge bar with lots of little nooks and crannies in which to enjoy the great ales served at this site.

Externally there is a pleasant and quiet garden that is a real boon in the summer months.

Trading Style:

This is a wet-led community site that is well supported by locals. Crib, darts and the quiz nights add to the comfortable atmosphere at this site. There has also been live music on a Saturday evening and occasionally on Sunday afternoons. The Rising Sun often caters for Christenings and other family events but currently does not have a food offer in place.

This site would suit a couple who are passionate and knowledgeable about Real Ales as well as being able to make the most of the pub's place in the community. With this in mind the new operators would need good understanding of the loca area and the needs of the community.
