Furnace Service Engineer - Software / Electrical / Mechanical - £36-42k + site uplift for overseas work/meal allowances + tools + company vehicle + overtime for weekend working (OTE £40-46k)

Samuel Frank Associates require an experienced multi-skilled Furnace Service Engineer to join a key client in the West Midlands to work in a high-tech manufacturing equipment. The client has enjoyed a successful growth period and increased the size of the service team significantly, they're now looking to grow the team again.

This position requires previous experience of working on furnaces - this may include vacuum furnace experience, heat treatment, melting, casting and bonding process experience and may have involved the installation, commissioning or servicing of the furnaces.

The successful hire will be skilled in both mechanical and electrical disciplines (and Electrically qualified) and will ideally have worked in either a service capacity or a plant maintenance role. This person will be involved in service work and will also be involved with commissioning and installation duties. The role will involve full project delivery to customers so if you're currently in a similar position and looking for something 'extra' then this could a great opportunity for you.

You'll need a valid passport and not be subject to any travel restrictions. You'll also need to be able to pass security clearance (i.e. no criminal record).

This opportunity can be home based.

The role requires extensive UK site work and non-UK travel. This is not a one plant maintenance position but will suit an individual with the range of skills of a strong multi-skilled Maintenance Engineer who is interested in a multi-site/travelling type role. The client estimates this individual to be out of the country for possibly 8-12 weeks per year. The frequency and duration of visits will depend on work load and customer demand so this is an educated estimate.

Experience of working in medium to heavy industry will be advantageous. Candidates with good all round engineering knowledge of working on high-tech equipment will be well suited to this opportunity.

The ideal profile will be a time-served Engineer and have experience of electrical/software technologies such as PLCs and SCADA (Siemens, WinCC, InTouch, Wonderware). Candidates who are time-served electrically and have good mechanical knowledge could also be ideal for this opportunity. The successful hire will be an experienced fault finder and be able to problem solve onsite with minimal supervision.

The client has an existing blue-chip client base and has built the business up consistently over many years of growth. They can offer a friendly and supportive working environment with a clearly defined career path.
