Overview

My client, the market leading supplier of administration and illustration systems to the UK specialist pension industry (SIPP and SSAS), and is looking for a Subject Matter Expert to deliver business requirements through the production of user stories for our development teams.

The role requires an individual who has a working knowledge of the lifetime savings market specifically in relation to pensions, and either a Business Analyst or Pensions Administration background. You will have responsibility for writing the business requirements for their software product covering customer-driven requirements alongside regulatory and industry-initiated developments.

The individual must be confident and able to take initiative in a client-and delivery-focused environment and be independent, self-directing and have a delivery focused working style.

The role:

  • Understand the customer/user base and their product requirements
  • Understand legislation-driven product requirements
  • Define user stories and acceptance criteria
  • Participate in backlog refinement sessions to guide the teams towards solutions that meet customer/legislative requirements
  • Maintain product level backlogs
  • Work within the SCRUM teams in a cross functional environment
  • Work with other members of your team to iteratively improve working practices

Core Skills Required:

  • A background in pensions administration or Business Analyst preferred, although consideration will be given to applicants who have worked within financial services/wealth management and legal compliance within finance
  • Excellent written communication skills with experience writing comprehensive, clear, well-structured documentation
  • Excellent verbal communication skills to a range of stakeholders
  • Ability to define a problem and assist in solution identification

Other

Part of this role will involve occasionally working outside of normal working hours to ensure business continuity. Based predominantly in Birmingham and occasionally in Nuneaton.
