Keeping London safe is a complex task. But here at the Met, we work to protect our dynamic capital every single day. The threats we face are ever evolving, and terrorism has become one of our biggest priorities. Our Customer Service Centre is vital to the efficiency and success of the National Counter Terrorism headquarters. As our Senior Server Engineer, your expertise will play a positive role in our counter terrorism aims.

With a relevant background, you’ll provide technical support as part of a team of multi-skilled engineers. Much of the role will see you working on incidents via our ticket management system ensuring system uptime and SLAs are adhered to.

You will also get involved in project building new systems and services - using the latest server, storage and virtualisation technologies. It’s about building innovative and unique solutions that maintain our operational business.

To join us, you will need experience of supporting Windows Server 2008R2, along with Windows Server 2012. We’ll also need you to have a background of working with vmWare, and ideally, SAN storage technology. Collaborative and proactive, you’ll manage your workload via a ticket system and provide advice to your colleagues.

In return, you’ll enjoy an excellent work/life balance – with only a four-day working week. And you’ll take advantage of world-class training that’ll see your career progress as you shape the future of policing.
