(This role is initially to cover maternity leave for the Finance Manager, then moving into a permanent Financial Controller role)

The Company

We are a wholly owned business of a large group of companies providing the Automotive Industry with exhaust systems, fuel systems and engine components for a wide range of vehicle manufacturers throughout the UK and Europe.

Job Purpose

Responsible for all aspects of the Finance function at UPA, including planning, budgeting, forecasting, monitoring and reporting at all levels, to ensure 'no surprises'. The role reports to the Finance Director and has four direct reports.

Responsibilities include;

  • Profit and Loss, Balance Sheet and Cashflow Reporting
  • Managing Cash/Bank Funding/Reporting
  • Year End processes including Annual Statutory Reporting / Audit / Tax
  • Product Group Accounts
  • Purchase/Sales Ledger
  • Customer Pricing/Claims/Surcharge
  • Key role in new business quotation process
  • Initiating and Supporting improvement activities across the department/business
  • Management of Team including monthly 1:1's and annual appraisal
  • Maintaining good relationships with suppliers, customers, banks, external auditors and Group Finance.

Requirements

We are seeking a qualified accountant (CIMA, ACA, ACCA) with experience as a Finance Manager preferably in Automotive or Manufacturing. Additionally you should have;

  • Both Financial and Management accounts experience
  • Excellent PC skills, excel knowledge essential, IFS knowledge preferred
  • Strong technical knowledge
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Influencer with excellent interpersonal skills
  • Enthusiastic, results orientated, self-motivation
  • A team player
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Results focused
  • Reporting at all levels, to finance and non-finance departments
  • Demonstrate CI skills
  • The ability to exercise sound judgement in a high-pressured environment
  • Possess a professional and proactive attitude with a high level of commitment and motivation to succeed
