Role Description

The main responsibility of a 2IC is to ensure that all activities are carried out as directed by the Venue Cleaning Manager. Supporting the Manager with organising and monitoring day to day cleaning, periodical, sub contractor cleaning, match day pre/during and post cleaning.

Key Responsibilities

Under direction and guidance from the Venue Cleaning Manager:

§Direct, control, motivate and encourage all colleagues under your management.

§Provide an efficient, safe, consistent and quality service to the satisfaction of client observing all the appropriate company policies, procedures and guidelines.

Duties

Operations: Under direction and guidance from the Venue Cleaning ManagerDirect, control, motivate and encourage all colleagues to complete their designated duties in an efficient and courteous manner to the expectation of our client and customers and maximising profitability.

Promote and maintain a positive company mage and maximise profitability.

Ensure compliance with all Health & Safety and company policies and procedures and actively promote Safety awareness.

Review colleague numbers within the venue under control from time to time ensuring appropriate levels are engaged within core and event teams to avoid overspend and keeping in mind annual leave and sickness absence.

Review the quality and response to customer service problems and complaints and that the appropriate corrective action is undertaken and completed to the customer's satisfaction.

Ensure day to day (hands on) leadership of your team.

Carry out any other duties as directed by the Venue Cleaning Manager, Operations Manager or any person within the senior management team, deemed reasonable to meet the needs of the business.

Ensure allocation of daily work schedules ensuring effective utilisation of colleague and equipment resources.

Travel to various Venues and Events as required to assist where necessary.

Administration: Under direction and guidance from the Venue Cleaning ManagerAttain a good working knowledge of the company’s management system, (CMS).

Ensure that expenditure of labour is justified and controlled and that time sheets are completed as appropriate clearly indicating hours worked and duties.

Ensure that any proposed expenditure is tightly controlled with quotes obtained and authorised by the Venue Cleaning Manager and Operations Manager.

§Ensure that all reports including weekly Flash Reports and Monthly Venue Reports are accurately completed and submitted on time.

Ensure that all job cost sheets and monthly budget sheets are accurately completed and submitted on time.

Staff Development: Under direction and guidance from the Venue Cleaning ManagerBuild and maintain positive working relationships within the senior management team, Head Office support functions – Pay Roll, Finance and Human Resources, and other venue teams to ensure an efficient and profitable service is delivered at all times.

Ensure that all colleagues are fully trained and proficient in the operation of equipment and methods of work applicable to the venue.

Ensure, by initial and subsequent check, that all colleagues required to operate equipment, machinery or drive company vehicles conduct daily routine maintenance checks prior to use.

Maintain a thorough, professional and courteous manner in the course of your duties.

Work toward obtaining the necessary skills and attributes to advance within the company by self-development and participation in training as provided by the company.

Attend and participate actively in any management meetings or seminars as required.

Report all matters whether positive or negative in regard to company activities within your area of responsibility.

Participate in event work when required to assist in the successful delivery of the event.

Accountabilities: Under direction and guidance from the Venue Cleaning ManagerProfitable operation of the venue in line with established budget

Compliance with all legislative requirements at all times

Development of new business within your venue

Knowledge of all other venues operations

Customer satisfaction and relationship with customer decision makers

Instigating operational improvements

Person Specification

·Excellent client and customer service skills along with a positive, motivational attitude.

·Must have management/senior supervisor cleaning experience.

·Familiar with the use of cleaning machines such as buffers, scrubber dryers etc.

·Strong people management skills; running teams of 10 up to 100 plus on event days.

·An appreciation and compliance in HR, ER, OH&S and EEO issues

·Well developed communication skills and a proactive nature

·Good IT skills

·Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
