Herald Lodge, Coventry are looking to recruit a Senior Care Assistant working 42 per week, 8am - 8pm, 3 on 3 off shift pattern.

Our Senior Care Assistants play a key role in the day to day running of our homes.As leaders of the care home family, they are responsible for supervising the caring team ensuring our residents are well-cared for and enabling them to live full and enriched lives. Our Ideal Candidate

We are looking for individuals who are passionate about the care they provide to join our team.Previous care experience in a residential setting is essential along with a NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care.We offer full induction training and support our carers to progress through their NVQs all the way to the highest levels of care.

Role Responsibilities

Being a Senior Care Assistant means your core focus is ensuring residents care plans are followed, ensuring residents are well-cared for socially, emotionally and physically at all times.Depending on your residents and their needs, it is a varied and rewarding role.Your core responsibilities would include:

·Acting as a keyworker for a names group of residents, ensuring their care plans are kept up to date in line with their changing needs and wishes.

·Responsibility for administering, recording and ordering medications in line with the care home medication policy.

·Assisting residents with their intimate and personal care needs, according to their individual care plan whilst protecting privacy and dignity at all times.

·Liaising with other care professionals to ensure the care needs of our residents are met at all times.

·Ensuring our residents feel well cared for by developing caring relationships, understanding their likes and dislikes and getting to know them as individuals.

·Leading and taking part in events and activities within the home, creating positive memories and experiences for our residents.

·Reporting and recording any changes in a resident’s behaviour, condition or needs and escalating to the Deputy Managers where appropriate to ensure we offer the best care possible for each resident.

·Training, coaching and developing of new and existing care staff to guarantee we are providing the highest level of care to our residents in line with compliance guidelines.

·Working well as part of a dynamic team to ensure that each aspect of a resident’s care needs is met, enabling their personal choice to be reflected throughout their care journey.
