We are looking for an experienced professional to create a proactive culture of Health & Safety across all areas of the business. You will be working within a Group HR function safe in the knowledge that you will be joining a Company that not only has great heritage but is forward thinking and an innovative thinker in the industry.

You will ensure we meet all of our operational responsibilities within Health & Safety across the organisation, therefore ensuring Health & Safety has its rightful focus and place at each level of our management teams. Our line management teams and frontline colleagues will be empowered and accountable ensuring safe working environments as well as being involved in actively steering the Health & Safety agenda.

The Role

Key Responsibilities include:

- Work closely with Exec and Senior Management teams to develop a clear direction of the Health & Safety strategy across Marston's, setting clear roles and responsibilities, whilst defining operational detail of Health & Safety resources
- Co-ordination and overseeing of the Health & Safety teams throughout the business, assessing current strengths, opportunities for co-ordination, synergies and sharing of best practice
- Devising a way forward with a clear action plan, ensuring the plan is agreed with appropriate stakeholders and implemented accordingly
- Sharing KPI's with the business that include leading as well as lagging indicators (including reporting of near misses, hazards and un-safe acts)
- Creating and implementing Health & Safety meeting and operating structures, standardising the frequency and content of the Health & Safety discussion

The Ideal Candidate

- A proven record of driving and delivering Group Health & Safety across a similar size and complex organisation
- A wealth of experience in leading and inspiring best practice
- A background in the hospitality sector and experience of managing in a multi-site environment
- Leading communication that realises safety excellence and is engaging as well as practical, meeting both business and legal requirements
- Promotion of Health & Safety across the business
- Excellent stakeholder management, building and maintaining relationships with the ability to influence key stakeholders at all levels within an organisation
- Educated to degree level or equivalent vocational qualifications
