Job Description:To support the team in ensuring that subject access requests under the Data Protection Act and are responded to appropriately and met procedural time scales. The role holder will process the more complex and involved requests. This involves initial assessment of the request; contact with managers to identify information held. To lead on all complaints from Requesters. To apply knowledge of data protection principles and statute to reviewing existing processes, and ensuring that new systems, procedures or research studies are data protection compliant.
Key Tasks & Deliverables:The EUCS Deployment Function within the MoJ is responsible for delivering IT solutions and products to the MoJ estate and related businesses. The Lead Deployment Manager is responsible, as part of a wider delivery team, for managing the overall lifecycle for the transition to Windows 10 and Office365 upgrade to MoJ and related businesses. The Lead Deployment Managers will be based regionally but will be expected to travel to HQ in London and to sites throughout their region to support this large-scale national roll out. Candidates will be expected to travel as needed. The Lead Deployment Manager will manage and support a team of regional Deployment Managers. Principle duties / responsibilities / key objectives • To be responsible for the deployment and implementation of the deliverables of a dedicated migration lifecycle for their allocated sites. • To manage a framework of suppliers to prepare allocated sites for readiness to deploy and implement the necessary technologies, within a set framework and migration lifecycle timescales. • Support the sites during their journey through the transformation lifecycle; from migration kick off, survey and requirements gathering, ordering, change freeze, deployment and cut over support. • Liaise with sites, suppliers and communications teams to help ensure a smooth implementation phase. • To communicate and articulate key changes in ways of working as customers migrate from to Office 365. • To lead the customer solution provisioning by suppliers on a site by site basis. • Work closely with business stakeholders, key users and suppliers to ensure the satisfactory delivery of migrated technology. There must be minimum disruption to service for the business. • Ensure quality standards are adhered to for any supplier deliverables to MoJ sites. • To be the key interface from the Programme to the business and provide answers to frequently asked questions pertaining to the schedule of works. • Raise any concerns that may impact on local and national implementation to Senior Management • Be active on issue management and effective post implementation review action. • Work effectively as a member of the Deployment Team • Track and report progress to the Regional or central Project Office • Support the Workstream Lead as needed. • Provide cover for other Lead Deployment Mangers. • Perform any other ad hoc duties for the benefit of the project, as and when required.
Experience Required:Essential: • Previous customer/client facing deployment role experience essential • Experience of managing staff and resources in a project context • An experienced IT professional, with evidence of project delivery capability developed in a customer focussed environment. • Communications, relationship building, negotiation and influencing skills. • Demonstrated evidence of credibility and integrity, providing advice, direction and support to stakeholders. • Stakeholder management skills to facilitate delivery in a medium scale ICT outsourced and contracted supplier environment to ensure you get the best out of a wider range of delivery partners for the benefit of MoJ. • Demonstrable people and professional leadership skills that will empower, support, robustly performance manage and develop your teams to achieve the highest performance standards • Skilled in information and communications technology. Has working knowledge of relevant development life-cycles. • Experience of financial management in a project context. • Desktop and pc technical knowledge an advantage • Supplier management • Large scale public sector IT programme delivery experience an advantage • Project management qualifications; Prince 2 or similar • Ability to assimilate, integrate and extract relevant information in a concise manner as appropriate • Project management experience and/or qualification: ability to plan, monitor, control and report status information • Experience of large scale migrations and technology roll outs • Security Clearance to SC level • Project management methodologies • MS Office Suite • Strong attention to detail with a methodical mind set • Team orientated with excellent influencing skills Desirable • Understanding of software development and delivery processes, methods and standards • Familiarity with the Government IT Profession and cross government IT policies • Understanding of the Government and working in the justice system • Demonstrated awareness of the social, environmental and corporate impact of ICT • Familiarity with relevant national and international legislation pertaining to the Government/Public Sector IT – e.g. Data Protection Act, Information Assurance policy. • Practitioner Certificate in PRINCE2 • Knowledge of Managing Successful Programmes (MSP) methodology. • Knowledge of agile project management methodologies.
