We are looking for an energised and passionate Support Co-ordinator like
you. An exciting opportunity has arisen for you to join our award winning
service here in Birmingham. This is your opportunity to be part of a forward
thinking and innovate service where you will be changing the lives of young carers
and their families.

As the coordinator of the family support workers you’ll oversee two
front line staff members with their day to day tasks. Alongside managing your
own large caseload, you’ll also manage all high needs cases. You will be
fortunate enough to be part of an established, friendly and driven team and
will be supporting and supported by two amazing colleagues Gurdas and Holly.

You will be essential in providing the necessary tools to help support
young carers understand mental health and their caring responsibilities. You’ll
help them gain confidence in their caring roles by providing bespoke 1.1
support plans and peer lead support groups.

You thrive under pressure, work well with children and are confident to
lead in multi-agency meetings. Kieran our manager is keen for you to bring new
pioneering ways of working that will enhance the support we provide to our
customers. You have the freedom to make the role your own and be as imaginative
as you want. Kieran also advocates working in different settings with our young
customers, such as community hubs, libraries, nature reserves and parks. This is
a truly an open and varied post.

You must have extensive knowledge of working with children and young
adults within the third sector so you must demonstrate your skills and work
history within your interview it is your time to shine.

free up your time, you’ll be given the latest IT kit, which could include a
Surface Pro tablet and smart phone, supported by our new online integrated IT
system which means that you don’t have to be in the office as you can complete
support plans on the go. You’ll also be paid between clients visit and
for your mileage too.

We want people like you, who strongly believe that providing support is
more than just a job and can make every client feel valued. To flourish in the
role, you will be a like-minded dedicated person who can demonstrate
compassion, empathy and creativity in your approach and use your unique skills
in enabling clients to reach their full potential. With previous
experience of working with vulnerable people in a support or care environment, you
will have a great understanding of professional boundaries, safeguarding, risk
assessment, confidentiality and be experienced in case management. It’s
also important that you can work in holistic way building partnerships with
external agencies and that you have strong IT skills too.

If you are successful, we need you to have an Enhanced Disclosure Check
through the Disclosure and Barring Service which we’ll pay for.
