We are looking for a Senior Mechanical Project Engineer to join our team to deliver Offshore/Onshore Wind Projects, Conventional and Waste-to-Energy projects and Oil and Gas projects in the UK.
Who we are?We are a growing engineering consultancy based in Warwickshire. We provide engineering consultancy and project management services to clients in Renewable Energy, Power Generation and Oil and Gas sectors. We are looking to capitalise on our experience in Renewable energy and the growth of the sector to expand our services both within and outside the UK.
Role and Responsibilities:•Direct responsibility of the Project Life Cycle from concept to final acceptance to ensure project schedule and key targets of time, cost control, progress reporting and quality assurance.•Generating and reviewing technical specifications for equipment, review of quotations, review of vendor drawings, preparation of design schemes, integration of various equipment packages, site surveys and estimates. Interpret quality and manufacturing documentation and P&ID’s/engineering drawings.•Prepare job plans, write Client proposal documents, estimate manhour requirements, plan works, managing multiple packages at once. Coordinate feasibility studies, due diligence exercises and design reviews.•Be comfortable operating either as part of a larger multidisciplinary team or working alone.•Ensure that all engineering works are undertaken in accordance with the conditions and requirements of the Contract. Adherence / compliance to applicable standards, rules and regulations (local and international). Drive the standards, expectations, guidelines and culture to achieve an incident and injury free project.•Management of customer relationship through effective communication plan. Advise of areas requiring escalation, decision for resolution & non-conformance and escalation process to ensure project requirements and expectations are met.•Knowledge of process safety including HAZOP, ATEX and SIL experience.•Prepare Inspection and Test procedures, Inspection plans, Orgainse and chair meetings with clients and contractors and initiate inspections.•Travel to various project and testing locations globally.
The Senior Mechanical Project Engineer will be:•Degree Qualified in a Mechanical Engineering•Chartered Engineer from a recognised institution.•10+ years of engineering and contracting experience in the delivery of projects •Experience working in the Power, Wind energy, Oil & Gas, Petrochemical sectors on Project Concept, FEED and EPC phases together with consultancy and proposal support.•Detailed working knowledge of typical power station/refinery/petrochemical/Wind Energy farm system components such as pumps, valves, fans, compressors, heat exchangers, tanks, pressure vessels, pipework routing and arrangement, Wind Turbines and process instruments etc.•An understanding of the sizing principles of main plant components and ability to prepare/review equipment sizing calculations.•Site based work experience acquired in a construction, commissioning, maintenance and plant operating environment. Ability to review O&M procedures and system functional descriptions.•Good working knowledge of the applicable standards, specification, testing and commissioning of key equipment.•Computer literacy with Microsoft Word, Excel, Autocad and MS Project/Primevera •The critical skills to evaluate explain and simplify complex technical issues.•Experience of working in the Asian and/or U.S. market essential.•A full driving licences.
