Job purpose

To provide quality, effective and first class recruitment to Interserve hiring managers across business units and support functions for salaried staff. Co-ordinate all recruitment campaign activity including: candidate generation, initial CV screening, assessment and selection, stakeholder management and offer management in line with Interserve’s Resourcing processes and policies, ensuring that the service standards and operational performance targets are met. Note: The role will be based at our West Bromwich office, B70 6RP, but will move to our new build Midlands headquarters at Birmingham International early in 2017.


  • Co-ordinate all recruitment campaign activity including: candidate generation, initial CV screening, assessment and selection, stakeholder management and offer management for roles up to c.£50k in line with Interserve’s Resourcing processes and policies
  • Advise and support managers in selecting the appropriate job profiles, job banding, terms and reward package for roles up to c.£50k
  • Advise and support managers on authorisation requirements and levels
  • Undertake all actions relating to all aspects of the end to end recruitment process for roles up to c.£50k, including: recruitment requests applications and interviews job offers and rejections / full candidate feedback appropriate utilisation of the candidate management system and setting up/updating records accordingly
  • Ensure queries and requests from line managers and candidates are responded to efficiently, timely and accurately
  • Ensure all hard and soft copy personnel records are maintained & secure, complying with obligations under the Data Protection Act
  • Support the Resourcing Manager with the regular review of 3rd Party suppliers
  • Complete special projects and miscellaneous assignments as required
  • Take incoming calls to the Resourcing team

Knowledge skills & experience

  • Proven experience in managing a varied recruitment workload
  • Experience of working within a busy modern HR administration department desirable
  • Ability to oversee full recruitment lifecycle – authorisation compliance, job descriptions, candidate sourcing, stakeholder management and engagement, assessment (where applicable), offer management and candidate feedback
  • Previous experience utilising candidate management system highly desirable
  • An appreciation of best practice recruitment processes and practices
  • Accurate keyboard skills and data entry experience
  • An understanding of HR systems would be an advantage Previous project work involvement / experience desirable


  • Strong customer service focus, with excellent telephone and written communication skills
  • Stakeholder engagement and relationship building at all levels
  • Well organised, with ability to work to tight deadlines and manage a variety of tasks at one time
  • Able to work at a constant fast pace with accuracy
  • Ability to work under pressure managing peaks and troughs in workload effectively

  • Ability to use computer applications, e-mail, MFD (Multi Functional Device) and telephone
