An innovative Haberdashery and Craft company in the West Midlands are seeking a Buying Admin Assistant who will work closely with the buyer of the department by maintaining relationships with suppliers and overseas factories. Your new role

If you love craft product, this is the ideal role for you. As a Buying Admin Assistant, you will support the buyer of the department by maintaining relationships with suppliers and overseas factories, submitting product approvals for new designs and packaging and ensure that everything runs following the critical path. You will manage product samples, set up for meetings, produce presentations and other documents and administrative duties as required. You will monitor sales trends and identify weekly best and worst sellers, and present these in Monday trade meetings. You will also keep an eye on the competition, and notify your team of any promotions, new products, or opportunities in the market this company could action. As you progress in the role, there will be the opportunity to take ownership of a small part of the range - an ideal opportunity to develop your buying skills.

What you'll need to succeed

You should have some demonstrable experience in a buying head office; this can come from a placement year or internship. To be successful in this role you will need to have strong organisational skills, be able to work to deadlines and be able to follow the critical path. You should be able to work well within a team, and be self-motivated. The successful candidate should be educated to degree level and be able to work in a fast pace environment.
