The good news is that our continued success and business growth has opened up an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic, creative and engaging Training Manager to join our successful Screwfix contract at our new site due to open November 2017 in Lichfield (Fradley Park).

Role Profile
  • Ensure that a best in class HSE performance is achieved within the operation and that a culture of safety is embedded in everything we do
  • Embed and live the culture of the site and actively participate in developing an open and honest environment.
  • Responsible for overseeing training team, initial and ongoing development and motivation of the team ensuring that they consistently meet objectives set.
  • Must be proactive in undertaking training analysis seeking improvements in process / methods of operating.
  • Designing and developing new and innovative training and supporting materials
  • Ensure all working procedures maintain legal compliance and are clearly defined and cascaded, with regular reviews to ensure effectiveness.
  • Responsible for the achievement of Key Performance Indicators and delivering a high level of on time, customer service.
  • Ensuring all necessary resources are available for training to take place
  • Giving feedback on any identified problems in the training content and/or process
  • To ensure we meet all of the site’s legal and legislative and operational requirements on an ongoing basis, in a fast-paced, dynamic, cross-functional environment
  • Diligence and attention to detail are required to personally create and maintain detailed training matrices
  • Reviewing and adjusting training methods as appropriate
  • Effectively communicate to all stakeholders surrounding training requirements
  • Undertaking direct training of colleagues
  • Reviewing LDF procedure and development.
  • Supporting HR to review further management development / needs.

  • Experience of pro-actively developing and creating training plans
  • Knowledge of training and developing practices and principals

  • Will have excellent team building, leadership and motivational skills
  • Must be able to demonstrate the commitment, enthusiasm and flexibility to work various shift patterns which are able to respond to customer demand
  • The ideal candidate should have working knowledge of the interaction between their own department and other key functions such as Stock and Systems, HR and Finance

Screwfix (part of the Kingfisher group) have over 500 Trade Counters as well as a full ecommerce next day service. We operate over 2m sq ft of warehousing and have 2,500 colleagues and 350 trailers dedicated to the contract. Fulfilling multi-channel solutions designed around the customer experience, the growth of the Screwfix business has been 14% year on year.

The Lichfield site will support the existing Stafford operation to provide seamless replenishment of over 3 million units per week to the Trade Counter retail network.
